Weather 2.15pm; Bright but overcast. Nice and warm and dry.

Weather ovecast and showery at noon today. It is possible that it will clear by 4pm.  Sea is calm.

Remember only one ferry on Wednesday 2.15pm from Baltimore.

Weather is glorious, lovely and warm. The best day so far in April.

A hostel guest reports basking sharks spotted from the ferry on the 5.30pm journey to Cape today.

Weather a little overcast, some gusty showers but with periods of lovely sunshine. A bit cold in the morning but warm enough in the afternoon.

Weather at 9am: A little overcast with brightness breaking through. Dry and warm enough not to need a fire.

Overcast to start and still wet from overnight rain. Sun burst through at around 4pm - warm during the day but got colder and damp in the evening.

Bright start to the day but still wet from overnight rain. 12 nnon, the sun came out and it is now nice and sunny.  Blue skies prevailing above - where else would it be.

Lovely and warm overnight. Bright and warm during the morning and overcast during the afternnon. No need for the heating.  Working outdoors in shirtsleeves.

The forecast was showing a severe weather front portending rain - but we remained dry and warm. Good enough to finish mowing the lawn around the hostel.

Tuesday 21st April 2009

Rained overnight but remained dry throughout the day. In fact it was very warm and sunny.

Monday 20th April 2009:

Weather at 5.45pm, still glorious and sunny - very hot.

Weather at 3pm, the most beautiful sunny day. Almost to hot to cut the grass. Not a soul about in the South Harbour - tranquillity.

Weather at 9am, is overcast but with promise of better later.

A lovely day, no rain fro a few days now.

Sunday 19th April 2009:

Weather at 11.30am, overcast but nice and calm and warm.

Weather at 9am, is slightly overcast with patches of blue sky. Nice and warm, some of the group mentioned earlier are in swimming.

Weather at 4.30am, is calm with no breeze, and warm enough for shirt sleeves - a lovely evening or, rather, morning - sky is overcast so no stars tonight. 

Occasionally I allow myself a little aside from the weather and, as it is now 5.30am, this is one of those times:

I run the youth hostel on Cape and am awake and aware this late or this eary? because I have a group of young people celebrating a 21st.  They are a very pleasant group staying with me on a sole occupancy basis because I won't mix familes with large groups.  I have just made a little camp-fire on the beach for them and I bet I will have a hard job waking them in the morning - providing I can actually wake up myself.  I can still smell the smoke of the camp fire on my clothes and hands as I type this blog.

Saturday 18th April 2009:

8.00pm, Weather is still gorgeous, and the island is abuz with three different celebrations. Two pre-weddings and a 21st birthday party.

5.00pm, Weather is bright, sunny and very hot  - a beautiful evening.

11.45am, Weather brightening slightly, sea calm, birds singing - nice day.
9.30am, Weather overcast at the moment but expected to be good and sunny. Two pubs will be open on Cape this evening.

Weather has started very wet at 7am.
Sun trying to break through at 8.25am.
Should be a nice day.
Ferry is on schedule: departing Cape at 9am, and 4pm; departing Baltimore at 11am, and 5.30pm.

Wednesday 15th April
It has been overcast and raining for much of the day but with enough clear patches to allow me to work outside building a gate and fence.
The air is fresh and clean and the birds are singing all around us - fantastic day.

Tuesday 14th April
A most beautiful day, sun very hot with clear skies - lots of people with redness in their faces from the heat of the sun.
