Wednesday 28th July 2010

The weather has been sensational for a week now. Today was stunning. The morning started with a heavy mist which burned off quite quickly. The sea was lovely and calm. This evening the sky is clear and the stars are sparkling away.
Thursday is expected to be more of the same.

Too many people are failing to wear sunblock and are ending up with sunburn. Stop being  a hero and put that sunblock on. This applies especially when you are near the sea.

Dispose of plastic wrappings safely and you might just be saving the life of a Leatherback Turtle.

Thursday 15th July

9am:  Another lovely day beckons.
A little windy to start but nice and warm, bright and sunny.
Just cleaned the beach from the plastic washed in overnight (overnight was very windy indeed).  It is when cleaning the beach that you realise how near identical clear plastic wrappings look compared with common jellyfish. The beach was awash with both this morning thanks to the high winds last night.

Dispose of plastic wrappings safely and you might just be saving the life of a Leatherback Turtle.

Friday 9th July

Cloudy, overcast, drizzle - what more can be said, I wonder? Well even this sort of weather has a special beauty all of its own. The moisture drips from the leaves of the trees and bushes and the wash you get when you brush past is a sweet, cold pleasure. The colours are so verdant and rich as if life is taking a firm grip, making a stand, telling us that nature will out regardless of the wayward efforts of man.

Yes, even with the rain we still have water shortages on Cape, please use water sparingly.
